"STOEGER LUGER CASED SET OF THREE PISTOLS WITH ACCESSORIES. This phenomenal cased set of pistols was very likely a salesman's sample kit & contains the following pistols & accessories: 1) DWM Stoeger American Eagle Luger - SN 5500u - Cal. 9 mm, with rare 7-3/4" bbl & fixed rear sight. It has DWM scroll on front toggle link, the American eagle over chamber, "A.F. STOEGER INC / NEW YORK." on right side of receiver along with "GERMANY" export mark. Bottom of bbl, left side of receiver & breech block have crown "N" proofs. The safety area on frame is marked "GESICHERT" & extractor is marked "GELADEN". Fitted with full checkered wood grips & accompanied by its orig unnumbered wood base magazine. 2) DWM Stoeger American Eagle Luger - SN 1110 - Cal. 30 Luger, with 4" bbl, marked exactly as #1 except the safety area is marked "SAFE" & extractor is marked "LOADED". Fitted with full checkered wood grips & its orig extremely rare matching numbered wood base magazine. 3) Rare Walther Olympia Model - SN 3809 - Cal. 22LR. Blue finish with 7-3/8" tapered rnd bbl, fixed sights & 1-pc checkered walnut grip. Left side of slide rail is marked "WALTHERS PATENT" and the Walther trademark name in a ribbon. Right side of slide rail has caliber marking with maker's name & address and a crown "N" proof. Right side of bbl has serial number, two crown "N" proofs & a large "9". The butt of back strap has a Luger-type stock lug with grip slotted to accommodate it. Bbl has two large "U"-shaped cuts on each side to accommodate a scope mount which accompanies this lot. This pistol, at one time, was equipped with a threaded muzzle & silencer which were removed & the muzzle finished to orig specifications. Accompanying these three pistols is their orig green felt lined wooden case with "STOEGER / 1110" and two different crests stamped in lid. Bottom of interior is French fitted for all three pistols along with an extremely rare 10-1/4" complete bbl, receiver, breech block & toggle system in caliber 22 bearing number "1110". It has ramp front sight with interchangeable blade & fixed rear sight on rear toggle link. Top of bbl has a dovetail base for a micrometer adjustable Schutzen rear sight which also accompanies under its spring keeper. In addition there is another barreled receiver with 4-3/4" tapered rnd bbl, American eagle over chamber & crown "N" proofs on bottom of bbl & left side of receiver. Right side of receiver has the A.F. Stoeger markings & export mark as in #1 above. The number "10" is on bottom of receiver. Additionally accompanying is another complete barreled receiver with 4" bbl, American eagle over chamber & DWM on front toggle link & fixed rear sight on rear toggle link. Bottom of bbl bears serial number "5500u". Additionally included is an orig, unnumbered, highly figured French walnut Luger carbine stock with beautifully checkered wrist & serrated horn buttplate with a sling eye in bottom. Also accompanying is the orig Carl Zeiss Zielklein scope with custom Duralloy mounts with knurled mount screws in each leg. This is the mount designed to fit the Walther pistol. The aforementioned mircometer adjustable rear sight for the 22 caliber Luger bbl & the sight adjusting key also accompany. Front left corner compartment was originally a compartment for the silencer which has been converted to contain two orig unnumbered commercial wood base magazines. Also accompanying is a small oval brass hinged lid can marked on lid in early script "Luger" & containing an orig pin punch, a takedown tool & two orig replacement sights for the 22 cal. bbl. And finally an extremely unusual Luger magazine loading tool. PROVENANCE: Doug Smith Collection CONDITION: All three pistols & extra receivers are in near mint condition with bright sharp bores & retain virtually all of their bright orig factory blue with crisp bright straw colors. Grips are also near mint with strong wood grain showing through. All accessories, including stock are in near mint condition with some minor bug damage to stock buttplate. Case is in extremely fine condition with some minor nicks & scratches on exterior with interior lightly faded. 4-36113 JR232 & BS (80,000-100,000)"
